One of the reasons why this is the case is because we tend to think of wind power as including those high towers with the blade powered turbines. It also has advantages over solar power because, similar to solar power, it will be able to store the energy but it will also be able to generate the energy 24 hours a day. You might also be interested in using vertical wind generators in order to cut down on your heating and air-conditioning bills. A small portable wind generator can easily be installed to run an attic fan which will pull the air out of the attic and keep it fresh. In the summertime, this can easily lower the temperature in your attic by several degrees, cutting down on the amount of radiant heat that is coming through into the rest of your house.
