"A Detailled Guide to Solar Power Systems ..."

Solar power systems are increasing in popularity every day. However, for most people how solar power systems work is still a big mystery. In this article, we’ll walk you through a how a solar power system works, step by step. After you’re done, you’ll know everything it takes to take sunlight and turn it into usable electricity.

The Parts of a Solar Power System

There are four key parts building a solar power system: The panels themselves, the inverter, the charge controller and energy storage.

The Solar Panels

Solar panels are made out of impure Silicon, usually Silicon and Phosphorus. Silicon atoms are designed to take eight electrons, but only have four. Phosphorus has five.

When combined, one atom is left floating. When this atom is hit by photons from the sun, it gets knocked loose and is absorbed by a metal ring of Silicon and Boron. This is then used to create Direct Current (DC) electricity.

The Inverter

Electricity generated from the solar panel is always Direct Current. In order for the electricity to be usable in household appliances, it must be converted to Alternating Current (AC) electricity.

The inverter is the part that does that. It is an absolute necessity for your home solar power.

Charge Controller

The charge controller is the part that “watches” the battery and determines when it needs to be charged and when to stop charging it.

Operating a solar panel without a charge controller is very, very dangerous. Overcharging a battery can result in hazardous situations or a permanently damaged the battery at best.

Energy Storage

The battery is a key part of any solar energy system. This is the part that allows you to charge electricity when there is sun and get energy when there isn’t.

Choosing a energy storage system for solar energy is an art and science in and of itself.

There you have it. You now know about all four of the basic parts that go into building home solar power systems. Although solar energy used to be expensive and inaccessible for most households, they’re quickly becoming more affordable and more popular. Whether you’re planning on assembling one yourself or getting one installed, knowing how solar power systems work will work toward your advantage.

There is no point in trying to do it without a step by step manual. If it's your first time, I strongly recommend that you buy the earth4energy ebook.

You will be up and running in no time, and most importantly, you will find secret places to get your own solar power kits for dirt cheap while others pay thousands (I'm talking about less than $300 for everything). You will also discover where to get your batteries for free.
